Vapi pricing comes in two layers. Vapi charges $0.05 a minute to host your agent, about ₹4.75, and the speech recognition, language model and voice are billed on top at what each provider charges, with no markup. Vapi's own calculator puts 1,000 minutes at $82 to $129 a month, about ₹7.79 to ₹12.26 a minute, before your phone carrier's charges.
The figures below come from Vapi's pricing page, checked on 23 October 2026, converted at ₹95 to $1 (rounded from the mid-market rate of about ₹94.8 on 22 October 2026, Pluang). Then come the costs that add up for Indian calls, a worked monthly bill and a fair look at how Kallix compares.

How Vapi's bill is built
- Hosting is the only part Vapi itself charges for each minute. It's prepaid, in US dollars.
- Providers at cost. Vapi passes through what the transcriber, model and voice providers charge. Bring your own API keys and those providers bill you directly instead.
- Packages are optional. With no package you get four lines, one Vapi number and 14 days of raw call data. Core and Pro add lines, numbers, data retention and support.
- Transport over Vapi's own telephony or SIP is free. Twilio, Vonage and Telnyx bill their own rates.
Costs that add up for Indian calls
Indian numbers and call minutes
Vapi's free numbers use US area codes and take inbound calls only, its telephony docs say. For calls to Indian customers you'll want an Indian number in the right series, such as a 140-series number for promotional calls, so you import one from another provider or connect a SIP trunk from your carrier. The carrier then bills its own minutes and number rental.
Lines
Four lines come with no package. Each extra line costs $10 a month, about ₹950, and the $29 Core package raises the total to 10.
Compliance and data
HIPAA-eligible handling is a $2,000 monthly add-on. Vapi runs in the US and the EU, with the EU region on its Premier package, and lists no India region.
The exchange rate
Every part of a Vapi bill is in dollars. A $1,000 month is ₹95,000 at ₹95, and ₹1,00,000 at ₹100.
A worked monthly bill: 1,000 to 50,000 minutes
The assumptions:
- outbound calls to Indian mobiles
- the transcriber, model and voice at the range in Vapi's own calculator
- two, five and 10 lines: no package at 1,000 minutes, one extra line at 10,000, and the Core package at 50,000, which costs less than six extra lines
- an Indian number and call minutes from your carrier
- dollars converted at ₹95, and taxes left out on both sides
| Monthly cost | 1,000 minutes | 10,000 minutes | 50,000 minutes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hosting at $0.05 a minute | $50, ₹4,750 | $500, ₹47,500 | $2,500, ₹2,37,500 |
| Transcriber, model and voice | $32 to $79, ₹3,040 to ₹7,505 | $320 to $790, ₹30,400 to ₹75,050 | $1,600 to $3,950, ₹1,52,000 to ₹3,75,250 |
| Lines | 4 included | One extra line, ₹950 | Core package, ₹2,755 |
| Indian number and call minutes | Your carrier's price | Your carrier's price | Your carrier's price |
| Vapi, what we can total | ₹7,790 to ₹12,255 | ₹78,850 to ₹1,23,500 | ₹3,92,255 to ₹6,15,505 |
| Kallix, all in | ₹5,299 | ₹51,496 | ₹2,48,491 |
The Kallix figures are ₹4.80 a minute with Indian call minutes included, ₹999 a month for each line beyond the two included, and one number at ₹499 a month.
How to read it. Vapi's hosting fee alone, ₹4.75 a minute, is close to Kallix's all-in ₹4.80, so the gap comes from the providers and the carrier. Bringing your own keys moves those costs to your own provider accounts rather than removing them, though a team with good provider contracts may pay less there. Vapi's extra lines cost a little less than Kallix's: about ₹950 against ₹999. To price your own volume, use the AI calling cost calculator →.
How Kallix compares
Where Vapi is stronger
- Full control of the stack. Choose the transcriber, the model and the voice for each agent, or bring your own keys.
- Any carrier. Connect SIP trunks from any provider. Kallix numbers come through Vobiz only.
- More lines to start. Four with no package and 10 on Core, against two on Kallix.
- Certifications. Its home page says it's SOC 2, HIPAA and PCI compliant. Kallix claims no certifications.
- Developer tools. Simulations, an EU region and a long list of integrations suit teams that build in code.
Where Kallix fits Indian calls
- Made for business teams. The agent studio drafts an agent from a plain description, and campaigns, analytics and WhatsApp follow-ups work without code.
- One rupee rate. ₹4.80 a minute with Indian call minutes inside, on one bill.
- Indian numbers in the dashboard, through Vobiz from ₹499 a month.
- Indian calling rules built in: DND (NCPR) checks before a campaign dials, and calling windows in IST.
- Data in India on every account, and Kallix is DPDP Act compliant.
- ₹500 in free credits on sign-up, about 100 minutes of calls.

FAQ: Vapi pricing
What does Vapi cost per minute?
Vapi costs $0.05 a minute for hosting, about ₹4.75, plus the transcriber, model and voice at cost. Its calculator estimates $82 to $129 a month when you run 1,000 minutes, about ₹7.79 to ₹12.26 a minute, before your carrier's charges.
Is Vapi free?
You can start free with $5 in credits, about ₹475, and then pay for the minutes you use. Packages are optional: Core is $29 a month, and Pro has a $999 monthly minimum.
Does Vapi include telephony?
Transport over Vapi's own telephony, SIP, WebSockets and WebRTC is free. Its free numbers are US and inbound only, so for Indian calls a carrier bills you for the minutes and the number.
Can I use Indian phone numbers with Vapi?
Yes, by importing a number from another provider or connecting a SIP trunk. Kallix rents Indian numbers through Vobiz in the dashboard, from ₹499 a month.
How many concurrent calls does Vapi include?
Four with no package, 10 on Core and 30 on Pro. Extra lines are $10 a month each, about ₹950. Kallix includes two and charges ₹999 a month for each extra line.
Does Vapi support Hindi?
It depends on the providers you choose. Vapi's multilingual guide gives language counts for each transcriber and voice provider, and says its own voices cover 40+ languages. Test your script in Hindi and Hinglish before you commit.
Is Vapi cheaper than Kallix?
Not on Vapi's own estimate for Indian calls. Its calculator works out at ₹7.79 to ₹12.26 a minute before carrier costs, against Kallix's ₹4.80 with Indian call minutes included. Teams with their own provider contracts may pay less for the model and voice, and Vapi gives more control in return.
