Kallix vs Vapi.
Build your own stack, or use a finished one.
The short answer
Pick Vapi if you have engineers who want to assemble their own stack: choose each speech, model and voice provider, bring your own keys and carrier, and build through an API. Pick Kallix if a business team will build and run the agents and you want one rupee rate with Indian call minutes inside, Indian numbers from the dashboard and call data stored and processed in India. On Vapi, the $0.05 hosting fee alone comes to about ₹4.75 a minute before models, voice and telephony.

Where Kallix is stronger
One rupee rate, everything inside
₹4.80 a minute covers the voice, speech recognition, the language model and the Indian call minutes. On Vapi, the hosting fee alone is about ₹4.75 a minute, before the parts it bills at cost.
Indian numbers in the dashboard
Rent 140-series, 1600 and 1601-series or regional numbers through Vobiz from ₹499 a month. Vapi's free numbers are US and inbound only, so Indian numbers come from a carrier you set up.
Made for business teams
The agent studio drafts an agent from a plain description, and campaigns, analytics and WhatsApp follow-ups work without writing code.
Data in India on every account
Call data is stored and processed in India from the first call, and Kallix is DPDP Act compliant as your data processor.
Indian calling rules built in
DND checks before a campaign dials, calling windows in IST, and an automated-calling declaration for every number Kallix provides.
What a month costs. Worked in rupees.
A worked example, so you can see where the money goes. The assumptions:
- 10,000 minutes a month of outbound calls to Indian mobiles
- one Indian phone number
- five calls running at once
- Vapi with no success package, priced from its own calculator, which puts 1,000 minutes at $82 to $129
- Indian calls over your carrier's SIP trunk, since Vapi's free numbers are US and inbound only
- dollars converted at ₹95 to $1, rounded from the mid-market rate of about ₹94.8 on 22 October 2026
- taxes left out on both sides
| Monthly cost | Kallix | Vapi |
|---|---|---|
| Hosting | Included in ₹4.80 | 10,000 × $0.05 = $500, about ₹47,500 |
| Models, voice and transcription | Included in ₹4.80 | About $320 to $790, or ₹30,400 to ₹75,050 |
| AI and voice, together | 10,000 × ₹4.80 = ₹48,000 | About ₹77,900 to ₹1,22,550 |
| Call minutes | Included | Free over Vapi's SIP. Your carrier bills its own rate |
| Five calls at once | 3 extra lines × ₹999 = ₹2,997 | 4 included, plus one line at $10, about ₹950 |
| One Indian number | ₹499 | From your carrier, at its price |
| What we can total | ₹51,496 | About ₹78,850 to ₹1,23,500, plus your carrier's minutes and number |
How to read it. Vapi's bill depends on the providers you pick, and bringing your own keys moves those costs to your own provider accounts. Compliance add-ons, such as HIPAA at $2,000 a month, sit on top.
Kallix bills in 30-second pulses, so a 50-second call counts as two pulses, ₹4.80.
