Vapi alternatives.
Bundled platforms and developer stacks, compared.
Why teams look beyond Vapi.
Vapi is an API-native platform for developers building voice agents. You choose the speech, model, voice and telephony providers, and Vapi hosts the agent. That flexibility is the point, and it's also why some teams look around.
- Several bills behind one call. Vapi charges $0.05 a minute for hosting, and each provider bills its own share at cost. Vapi's own estimate for 1,000 minutes a month is $82 to $129, so the total moves with your provider choices.
- Engineering time. Getting the most from Vapi means choosing and tuning providers. Teams without developers may prefer a bundled studio.
- Compliance add-ons. HIPAA is a $2,000-a-month add-on on Vapi's pricing page.
- Indian calls. The Vapi pages we checked don't name supported languages, and its listed telephony integrations are Twilio, Telnyx, Five9, Genesys and Avaya. Teams calling India want Hindi, Hinglish, Indian numbers and DND checks in one place.
What to check before you switch
- One all-in rate, or a hosting fee plus separate provider bills
- Who on your team will choose and tune models and voices
- Named support for Hindi and Hinglish, checked on a test call
- Indian numbers, DND (NCPR) checks and IST calling windows
- Compliance add-ons and what they cost each month
- Concurrency included, and the price of extra lines
