Kallix vs Retell AI.
Global reach in dollars, or Indian calls in rupees.
The short answer
Pick Retell AI if you call across many countries, want to choose your own language model and voice, need HIPAA or SOC 2 paperwork, or already run a SIP carrier. Pick Kallix if your calls go to Indian phones and you want one rupee rate with the call minutes inside, Indian numbers rented in the dashboard and call data stored and processed in India. Retell sells its own numbers in the US and Canada only, so an Indian number on Retell comes from a carrier you bring.

Where Kallix is stronger
Indian numbers in the dashboard
Rent 140-series, 1600 and 1601-series or regional numbers through Vobiz from ₹499 a month and route them to an agent. On Retell, Indian numbers come from a carrier you set up over SIP.
One rupee rate, call minutes inside
₹4.80 a minute covers the voice, speech recognition, the language model and the Indian call minutes. There's no dollar bill built from parts and no separate carrier invoice.
Data in India on every account
Call data is stored and processed in India from the first call, and Kallix is DPDP Act compliant as your data processor.
Indian calling rules built in
Numbers are checked against the DND register before a campaign dials, campaigns dial only in the IST windows you set, and Kallix declares automated calling for the numbers it provides.
WhatsApp after the call
Send a confirmation, a document or a payment link, such as a UPI link unique to each account, on WhatsApp once the call ends.
What a month costs. Worked in rupees.
A worked example, so you can see where the money goes. The assumptions:
- 10,000 minutes a month of outbound calls to Indian mobiles
- one Indian phone number
- five calls running at once
- Retell set up as in its own pricing example: $0.11 a minute, made of the voice engine ($0.055), a platform voice ($0.015) and a $0.04 language model
- Indian calls over your own carrier's SIP trunk, since Retell sells numbers in the US and Canada only
- dollars converted at ₹95 to $1, rounded from the mid-market rate of about ₹94.8 on 22 October 2026
- taxes left out on both sides
| Monthly cost | Kallix | Retell AI |
|---|---|---|
| AI and voice | 10,000 × ₹4.80 = ₹48,000 | 10,000 × $0.11 = $1,100, about ₹1,04,500 |
| Call minutes | Included | No Retell charge over your SIP trunk. Your carrier bills its own rate |
| Five calls at once | 3 extra lines × ₹999 = ₹2,997 | Included (20 lines) |
| One Indian number | ₹499 | From your carrier, at its price |
| What we can total | ₹51,496 | About ₹1,04,500, plus your carrier's minutes and number |
How to read it. Retell's AI part moves with the models and voices you pick: its published range of $0.07 to $0.31 a minute comes to about ₹66,500 to ₹2,94,500 for this month of calls. Add-ons such as a knowledge base or PII removal add a little per minute. Retell includes far more lines, so a campaign with many calls at once costs less in lines there.
Kallix bills in 30-second pulses, so a 50-second call counts as two pulses, ₹4.80. Retell bills the same call to the second.
